Things to Do Around Eldoret: A Visitor's Guide

Eldoret is the seat of Uasin Gishu County, in Kenya's Rift Valley highlands — over 2,000 metres above sea level, which makes for cool mornings and evenings year-round compared with the coast or Nairobi's lower suburbs.
Home of champions
The city and its surrounding highlands are famous worldwide as a training ground for elite Kenyan distance runners, drawn by the altitude. If you're into running yourself, you'll see training groups on the roads early most mornings.
Getting here
The Starbucks Hotel sits on the Eldoret–Kisumu road, on the way to Eldoret International Airport — convenient whether you're arriving by road or flying in directly.
Right next door
We're built beside the Showground, so if there's an agricultural show or an event on there during your stay, it's a short walk rather than a taxi ride.
Where to base yourself
Being two kilometres out from the town centre keeps things quiet while staying close enough for a trip in — and with a restaurant, bar, pool, gym and conference halls on site, there's plenty to do without leaving the grounds either. See our 5 room types and pick what suits your trip.
